WICKED, London's smash hit musical, has been shortlisted for this years special Laurence Olivier Audience Award which is giving the public the chance to vote for their favourite long-running West End show.
Executive Producer Michael McCabe said in a statement: "We are hugely honoured to have been shortlisted for this very special Laurence Olivier Audience Award and thank everyone for their nominations. Incredible word-of-mouth has propelled WICKED to become one of the West End's most enduring successes in recent years, and it has been through the enthusiasm and support of our audiences that we are now established as a long-running hit musical."
The shortlist of 5 shows also includes Billy Elliot, The Phantom of the Opera, War Horse and We Will Rock You. The winner of the special Laurence Olivier Audience Award for 'Most Popular Show' will be announced on 21 March 2010.
