Alexia Khadime, currently starring as 'Nala' in Disney's The Lion King, is to star as Elphaba in the record-breaking hit musical WICKED at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre from Monday 9 June until Saturday 29 November 2008.
Alexia Khadime originally joined the cast of Disney's The Lion King in 2001, aged 17. She returned to the show in May 2005 to star as 'Nala' and has been playing the role ever since to great acclaim. Her other theatre roles include 'Candy' in the national tour of Whistle Down The Wind; 'Ronnie Spector' in the national tour of Leader of the Pack and Cinderella The Musical at the Hackney Empire. Her television appearances include: two series of Grange Hill; 'Tanisha' in Cleopatra Comin' Atcha (ITV1) and 'Sophie Thompson' in Dream Team (Sky).
Kerry Ellis, currently starring as Elphaba, will depart from the London production on Saturday 7 June 2008 to star in the Broadway production at the Gershwin Theatre from Tuesday 17 June 2008. She will return to the London production from Monday 1 December 2008.
